We are looking for a Locksmith who will install, repair, modify, and open a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, and vaults.

The Locksmith examines the locking mechanism and installs a new unit or disassembles unit and replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts or repairs them by filing, drilling, chiseling and grinding, opens door locks by moving lock pick in cylinder or opens safe locks by listening to lock sounds or drilling. The Locksmith makes new or duplicate keys, using a key cutting machine, changes combination by inserting new or repaired tumblers into lock, and establishes keying systems for buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Install, repair and maintain commercial lockable hardware such as doors, automatic electric door, windows, lockers and magnetic keying systems to ensure safety of facilities.
• Produce and/or modify hardware for locks.
• Make new keys; replace broken or lost keys.
• Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates and services equipment used in the performance of duties.
• Maintains appropriate service and repair records.
• Researches, purchases and inventories equipment parts, chemicals and supplies.
• Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
• May train and direct the work of others.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work

Requirements
• Ability to perform standard emergency work orders, for commercial clients only.
• Ability to install, repair and maintain Commercial and Residential hardware.
• Safe and Card Access experience is a Huge Plus
• Ability to install, repair and maintain panic hardware and exit devices
• Ability to modify hardware for locks.
• Ability to create and maintain master key systems.
• Residential & Commercial Lock re-keying/ Perform Pining of locks.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to trouble-shoot with a variety of variables in situations.
• Ability to clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate & service equipment used.
• Ability to read operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers & commercial clients.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to cut keys by code.
• Automatic door experience a big plus
