Bamburi Cement-Athi river has gone Green, offsetting their day time power bills by up to 40% with 488kw system in the beautiful Athi River Machakos County. A complete set up including a grid tie PV system, UPS for critical loads, 250kw generator fuel saver system due to high grid black out periods, and stabilizer for Grid power. The system will save on average 40% on their power bills this year with plans to double the system size by mid next year.
This 0.5MW is saving them an average of kshs 120,000 per day with a 25 year warranty at 80% output.
