Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) is a state corporation under the ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries established through Gazette Notice No. L.N. 110 of September, 2011. It has been in operation since 1946 as CAIS and its mandate is to produce, preserve and conserve animal genetic material (semen embryo, tissues and live materials) and rear breeding bulls for provision of high quality disease free semen to meet national demand and for export. KAGRC works in close collaboration with other breeding organizations, societies and individual farms which provide herds for the breeding program such as the Kenya stud book, the Dairy Recording services of Kenya and the Livestock recording centre. KAGRC is currently operating several Liquid Nitrogen plants countrywide in order to facilitate access to the key preservative of bull semen.
The management wishes to recruit dynamic, results oriented and committed individuals who can work for the organization. The positions are permanent subject to six months’ probation.
DRIVER: JOB GRADE KAGRC 12 (2 POSITIONS)
An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.
$1a) Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:-
$1 i. Drive vehicles as authorized;
$1 ii. Carry out routine checks on the vehicles;
$1 iii. Detect and report malfunctioning of vehicles system;
$1 iv. Maintain records of vehicles;
$1 v. Ensure security and safety of the vehicle;
$1 vi. Oversee safety of the passengers and or goods therein;
$1 vii. Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle;
$1 viii. Ensure adherence to or observations of traffic laws; and
$1 ix. Report any incidents to police and/or the office immediately they occur.
$1b) Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
$1 (i) KCSE D plain or equivalent from a recognised institution;
$1 (ii) Valid driving license;
$1 (iii) Trade Test for Drivers Grade III;
$1 (iv) First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from a recognized institution;
$1 (v) Five years driving experience;
$1 (vi) Ability to travel country wide; and
$1(vii) Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
$1c) Key Competencies and skills
$1 (i) Organizational skills;
$1 (ii) Public Relations skills;
$1 (iii) Good communication and reporting skills in both English and Kiswahili;
$1 (iv) Interpersonal skills; and
$1 (v) Integrity.

$1 iv. Clearance from the CRB; and
