Job Description

The Agri and Co-operative Training and Consultancy Services Ltd, The Corporate arm of The Cooperative University of Kenya is charged with a mandate to facilitate the outreach of the University’s academic knowledge through provision of business solutions to Agriculture, Co-operative and Associated sectors of the economy. We train, consult and undertake applied research in the three sectors in Kenya and the region. We are also a professional and quality Staff Recruitment Services Provider.
One of our clients, a well-established company in Agriculture and Real Estate businesses is looking for suitable personnel who are experienced, innovative and result oriented to fill up the following 10 positions:
JOB TITLE: GRAIN AND HORTICULTURE FARMS FOREMAN

Location: Nyandarua Reporting: To the Grain and Horticulture Farms Manager

Key Performance Areas

  1. Studies Grain and Horticulture production schedules and estimates staffing, duty assignments and inventory requirements.
  2. Helps to develop a production plan including people, inputs, resources and equipments
  3. Implement the approved production plan
  4. Applies work procedures to meet production schedules.
  5. Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
  6. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  7. Supervise Grain and horticulture Farm workers
  8. Helps to develop a production plan including people, inputs, resources and equipments
  9. Recommends measures to improve production methods, quantity and quality of Grain and
    Horticulture products.
  10. Ensure efficient and effective Grain and Horticulture production. This involves supervising workers activities, such as Planting, Weeding, Irrigation, Spraying, Harvesting, Weighting, and Input application and Grading.
  11. Maintains time and production records.
  12. Implement company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  13. Responds to grievances in conjunction with manager
  14. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Qualification, Skills and Experience

  1. Minimum: “O” C- or equivalent
  2. Relevant Certificate /Diploma in Crops Management
  3. Computer literate
  4. At least 1 year experience in Crops Management
