Maintain the grounds, fences and landscape
Maintain the grounds, fences and landscape to ensure an aesthetic environment that promotes environmental conservation and serene working and living environment.
Ensure the grass is well trimmed at all times, the plants and flowers are well manicured without infectious/harmful insects.
Continuously replenish plants or flowers when they die off.
Collect various plant and flower species and maintain a nursery for replenishing dead plants/flowers.
laying mulch (compost, bark or other materials) around plants.
Sourcing for new plants/flowers to enhance the collection of plants at the academy including medicinal plants. Research on plants and landscape designs to ensure that the academy has the best layouts and plants at all times.
To ensure that all health and safety issues related to identified garden areas are addressed to enable students and members of staff to use the areas safely.
Manage garbage disposal
To assist in the general efficient operation of the school in areas related to the role of the gardener.
Prepare budget for the function.
Education and experience
At least 5 years working experience with special focus on landscaping on large scale. knowledge of various plants and flower types and the climatic conditions that favour them
Knowledge of establishment of a nursery
Demonstrated experience and commitment to landscaping
Good communication skills
