Our client, a leading manufacturer of building solutions is seeking to recruit a Safety Manager. The candidate must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrate high intergrity and professional ethics and make decisions on the role in a prudent manner.
Key Performance Areas:
1. Quality Assurance
i. Coordinate Quality Assurance activities for both internal and external customers.
ii. Manage generation of non-conforming products by implementing inspection and testing programmes, upgrading of SOPs and Quality plans
iii. Ensure relevant statutory ®ulatory requirements are adhered to
iv. Manage customer satisfaction - Manage customer complaint redressal process and other related processes
v. Identify training needs of quality assurance staff and organise for training in conjunction with HR
vi. Ensure all requisite quality assurance reports are prepared and circulated as per established plans
vii. Propose, Participate and implement continual improvement programs as established by company plans
viii. Manage the Integrity of testing and inspection processes through ensuring precision of test results by ensuring timely calibration of equipment and equipment upgrading
2. Environment, Health and Safety
i. Develop and implement annual plans for hazard & environmental aspects identification and risk &impact assessment for the company
ii. Identify legal and other requirements and develop programs and systems for ensuring compliance by employees, contractors, visitors and other external interested parties
iii. Procure in consultation with Supply Chain department and provide the appropriate PPEs for employees as per risk assessment and ensure compliance
iv. Increase the health and safety competence level of the workforce through training, sensitization and awareness creation
v. Maintain and control all relevant Environment, Health and Safety documentation
vi. Determine, implement and maintain operation controls to manage risk associated with equipment, hazardous substances, electrical and manufacturing process
vii. Maintain and improve the EHS processes for the company
viii. Plan and coordinate companywide internal and external audits and closure of non-conformances
ix. Manage incident investigations, ,corrective and preventive action implementation
x. Ensure Compliance with all the requirements of ISO14001 & ISO 45001 standards
xi. Plan and conduct periodic management review meetings as per EHS plans
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
i. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution
ii. 5- 8 years working experience in Quality Assurance and Health & Safety management in a large manufacturing firm.
Other Qualifications as an added advantage
Lead Auditor ISO 14001, 45001, 9001
Good Knowledge of SAP

xiv. Working knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with technical or IT process and business owners a plus
xv. Strong proficiency in Windows, MS office
Additional/Specific to work requirements:
Good understanding of quality management Systems & EHS management systems
Experience and knowledge of pertinent legislations, regulations, standards and policies pertaining to the best practices in quality and EHS management.
Manage quality assurance and EHS processes and activities in all company sites.
