Antony Mutahi Kahembe
GOING DIGITAL FOR THE PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING STUDENT IN EAST AFRICA AND BEYOND
ADVANCED FINANCIAL REPORTING KASNEB QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS REVIEW BY WAKAIRU PETER KUNG’U
Mutahi Kahembe has the distinction of writing the first known Kenyan Accounting book that is not only digital but can be read on a smart phone.
Though this requires the student to have android enabled smart phone it is nevertheless a breakthrough considering that we are in a third world country.
As a prize winner in Advanced Financial Reporting I can authoritatively report that the book Advanced Financial Reporting is a must have for the busy working professional finalist students who has to juggle the busy office working schedules and KASNEB exams every six months.
As one who was involved in the book’s preparation in it’s formative stage before I was awarded the best student in Advanced Financial Reporting KASNEB June 2012 exams, I can confirm that the book is value for money.
The way the answers to the questions are explained are in a step by step format makes it easy for the students to grasps and understand.
The contents page does not appear so appealing to the eyes as different fonts are used on the page but for desiring students this is a small price pay considering the importance of the actual contents.
The book was have not incorporated the new changes in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS’s) effected for January 2013 but that does not make it outdated as the contents in such IFRS’s are clearly explained.
The book sells for KShs 1,740 VAT inclusive which is a quite reasonable price given that the fact that the buyer will be allocated six copies i.e one can download on a laptop, desktop, smart phone and still have three unused licenses to download before repurchasing the book.
