About Us

Who We Are

ETP is an exclusive manufacturer of interior fit-out teak products. Our teak (Tectona grandis) is grown and nurtured in Gbudue state of South Sudan by our parent company Equatoria Teak Company The slow grown teak is harvested at an average age of 50 years producing a fine grain, high density, well coloured timber that is visually appealing.
We have the capability to apply our knowledge and experience in the timber to craft it into world class finished products. ETP is a subsidiary of ETC, an investee company of the Maris Group, an Africa focused holding company that has been managing investments since 2006.

What We Do
ETP is Kenya’s leading suppliers and manufacturers of high quality, finely crafted teak products such as Flooring, decking, doors and windows, outdoor furniture and treated teak wood. We provide materials and services expertise for your hardwood interiors and fit-out needs.

Our experience in supplying both large and small-scale projects means that we can help our customers deliver on time and on budget. We are a supplier, but we like to work as an extension of your team. Whether it’s providing advice and guidance on the use and maintenance of the exquisite teak timber and/or presenting ideas for new surface finishes, we like to think we add something to your supply chain and that we are a little different from other companies in our sector.

Core to our operations is the passion for the sustainability of forest lands in Africa. ETP only deals in sustainably planted and harvested teak. The world’s forests continue to shrink as populations increase and forest land is converted to agriculture and other uses. Africa had the highest net annual loss of forests in 2010-2015, with 2.8 million hectares being lost. ETP believes in sustainable construction and core to our line of work the maintenance of the ecological benefits of forest land and its biodiversity whilst producing high quality bespoke teak products.

Our Environmental Position
Our commitment to the environment start from the seedling stage of a teak tree to the final finish installed in your house. Through our parent company, dedicated forest workers work passionately to preserve our environment by planting trees, managing road maintenance and preserving wildlife habitats. All our wood products come from our sustainable managed forests. We are also a member of the Kenya Green Building Society with an excellent reputation with various agencies that oversee environmental issues.

Teak Timber
Teak wood is a close-grained beautiful honey toned hardwood with high natural oil and Silica content. It is one of the hardest, strongest, and most durable of all timbers, highly resistant to any rotting, warping, splitting, and the effects of hot sun, cold weather or frost, and of course rain. Requiring extremely little maintenance, these characteristics combine to make Teak ideal for all indoor and outdoor applications and has been the preferred choice of boat builders for and outdoor furniture for centuries.

In more modern times Teak was once seen primarily on elegant yachts and extravagant estates. Today, Teak wood is now a premium wood of choice for designers of hotels, corporate headquarters, universities and colleges, luxury homes, and luxury yachts. Teak is highly desired for use as furniture, and even residential decking.

ETP has unlimited supply of teak from plantations managed by the parent company ETC (insert link) in South Sudan. The teak in the plantations was planted over 40 years ago. The total plantation area at ETC is currently 1,700 ha of planted areas and a further 17,000 ha. that are available for teak cultivation. The company is passionate about the sustainability of forest lands in the region and has developed South Sudan’s most advanced nursery and replanting scheme. The company is actively coppicing existing plantations and expanding new planted areas that will come to maturity within 14 - 25 years. ETP’s teak is well dried to the best acceptable standards.
